Brandalley buys Country Attire owner in pre-pack deal
Fashion group Brandalley has acquired the Country Attire brand and business out of administration in a pre-packaged deal.
Pre-pack ensures continuity
The pre-pack administration process ensured the continuity of Country Attire’s business and all 125 employees transferred to Brandalley. No stores were closed as a result of the acquisition.
Extensions Brandalley’s portfolio
Country Attire, which sells menswear, womenswear and accessories, extends Brandalley’s portfolio of fashion and clothing brands. Brandalley owns brands including Coast, Oasis, Warehouse, Lipsy, Jack Wills and Slaters.
Challenging time for retailers
The acquisition of Country Attire comes during a challenging time for retailers as they grapple with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Brandalley said the pre-pack deal gave it the opportunity to acquire the business and its assets without any business or job losses.
Enhanced scale and range
The addition of Country Attire will enhance Brandalley’s scale and range, improving its ability to serve customers and trade partners. It provides Brandalley with a wider selection of products, especially in the growing menswear and accessories categories.
Complements existing portfolio
Brandalley chief executive Henry Davis said: “Country Attire is a highly respected brand that complements our existing portfolio extremely well. The acquisition enhances our product range, provides further growth opportunities and reinforces our position as one of the UK’s leading online fashion and clothing retailers.”
Significant expansion
Davis added that the deal represents a “significant expansion” of Brandalley’s business. “We are delighted to be continuing the fantastic heritage of Country Attire and look forward to supporting the team in delivering the brand’s vision for many years to come,” he said.
